Win, Fair or Lose, judged against community reference values in Gems. Nothing here is a price set by anyone official, so a fair trade in BGSI means two sides that traders would generally accept as even, and the whole thing rests on people agreeing to use the same list.

Read the gap rather than the letter. In a game where values run from a few thousand Gems to eight million, a verdict compresses far too much: "lose" covers both a trade you should renegotiate and one you should walk away from, and only the number tells you which. Trading unlocks once you reach Outer Space, which opens swaps with same-server players, and from there most offers are arranged through community Discord channels, some with a bot posting them automatically.

How to Check if a BGSI Trade Is Fair

Build both sides and read the totals, then do the check this game punishes people for skipping: confirm the variant on every pet. A Shiny or Mythic version is a different item with a different price, not a bonus on the Normal one, and the difference is not small. Water Serpent is 350 as a Normal, 2,250 as a Shiny and 5,000 as a Mythic.

Because those variants are not priced on this site, a trade containing one cannot be settled by the totals alone. Price the Normal pets here for the baseline, look the variant up on a list that publishes per-variant amounts, and add it in yourself. That is more work than a single click, and it is considerably less work than handing over a Mythic priced as a Normal.

The Mistake That Costs BGSI Traders Most

Using the stat multipliers to price a variant. Shiny gives 1.5x regular stats, Mythic 1.75x and Shiny Mythic 2.625x, and those figures are everywhere, so it feels reasonable to multiply a Normal value by 1.75 and call it a Mythic. Do that with Water Serpent and you arrive at about 610 Gems for something published at 5,000.

The direction of the error is what makes it dangerous: it always undervalues the variant, which means it always favours the person receiving it. If somebody offers you a Normal-priced calculation for their Mythic, they may simply have made the common mistake, or they may be counting on you making it. Either way you are the one paying for it, so establish which variant is in the window before anyone starts quoting numbers.

How to Judge a BGSI Offer Beyond the Total

Demand first. Every one of the 717 pets on the value list carries a rating from Low through Medium and High to Insane, and a technically fair swap into a Low demand pet is slower to move than the number suggests. If you trade to trade again, demand is worth more attention than the last ten percent of value.

Scarcity second, and in BGSI it is unusually concrete. Infinity is the highest rarity, with base chances running from 10% down to 1e-11%, and 64 of the 73 Infinity pets are LIMITED, meaning supply is closed. A LIMITED Infinity pet is a different kind of asset to a Secret you can still hatch, however close their listed values sit.
